About the event

What is in store for youth with disabilities after they leave the school system? This question is important to all parents of youth with disabilities. Whether your child’s disability is mild or more significant, they need to plan for the future. Transition represents the process of moving from the public-school setting into adult services. A transition plan is a required part of a student’s IEP and should be developed and in place by their 15th birthday. The transition part of the IEP should address academics, training and skills your student should take to prepare their path towards further education, career development and employment after leaving the school system. This workshop will provide training on the transition plan as part of the IEP and information and referrals to adult services and supports.

The Utah Parent Center in partnership with Granite School District Special Education is pleased to provide these FREE workshops for families of children, youth and young adults with disabilities. All are welcome. Pre-registration is appreciated by calling 801.272.1051
